Welcome to CMIC Source Energy and Emissions Analysis Tool
Version 2.2

The CMIC Source Energy and Emissions Analysis Tool estimates source energy consumption and selected air emissions including Green House Gas (GHG) emissions associated with annual energy consumption by purchased fuel type of baseline and alternative applications defined by user-selectable and pre-defined inputs.

The tool also estimates annual site energy use in a user-selected location for:

  • Residential buildings and appliances
  • Passenger vehicles (<6,000 lbs)
Default power plant efficiency, fuel mix, and emissions data contained in the eGRID 2007 v1.1 database are used to estimate GHG emissions (as well as SO2, NOx, and Hg) associated with annual site energy consumption at national, NERC region, eGRID sub-region, state, city, and zip code levels. Energy consumption and emissions associated with extraction, processing, transportation, and distribution are also estimated based on government data sources.
